U.S. authorities are preparing insider-trading charges against a servicemember suspected of making more than $1 million through Polymarket bets tied to the timing and outcomes of U.S. military operations in Iran and Venezuela, The Wall Street Journal reports.
The servicemember has been under investigation since the spring as part of a broader probe into military personnel trading war-related prediction contracts. Authorities are also investigating a KPMG employee suspected of betting on whether a public company would beat its quarterly earnings estimate.
