Qatari mediators are working on a proposed agreement under which the United States and Iran would make a series of concessions over five days, including Iran reopening the Strait of Hormuz and the U.S. lifting its naval blockade on Iranian ports, according to The New York Times, citing a Gulf official.
The main obstacles are disagreements over the timing of each side’s concessions and Qatar’s push for Iranian nuclear concessions, which Tehran’s negotiators are rejecting.
