TSA airport security officers checking IDs and boarding passes across the country are no longer permitted to sit during their shifts, under a new policy confirmed by the agency.
“This welcome change reinforces both our security posture and our commitment to hospitality by having these officers on their feet and alert,” TSA said. “All officers must meet fitness for duty requirements to be capable of performing their vital national security function.” Reuters reports.
