Poland is in talks with the United States over establishing several permanent U.S. military bases in the country, Deputy Defense Minister Paweł Zalewski said. An American defense official is expected to visit Poland soon to assess possible locations, although no sites or deployments have yet been finalized. Poland currently hosts around 10,000 U.S. troops, mostly on a rotational basis, and is also seeking additional reconnaissance and command capabilities. Warsaw has ruled out hosting U.S. nuclear weapons.
