The former head of the FBI's Chicago field office has sued senior Justice Department officials, claiming he was pushed out after being blamed for the collapse of a case against protesters. Douglas DePodesta alleges prosecutors pursued "politically motivated prosecutions" against Chicago protesters.
The suit centers on the "Broadview Six" case, which was dropped in May after grand jurors twice declined to indict. Hours after the suit was filed, a federal judge ordered U.S. Attorney Andrew Boutros and three of his prosecutors to testify under oath on November 16.
