Prime Minister Netanyahu has filed a nearly NIS 3 million defamation lawsuit against Haaretz, Channel 12, Yedioth Ahronoth and several journalists over reports claiming that UAE President Mohammed bin Zayed warned him ahead of the October 7 massacre. Netanyahu alleges the reports falsely claimed he received a 45-minute warning about a major Hamas operation and then concealed the information. The defendants include journalists Shlomi Eldar, Ruth Yuval, Uri Misgav, Nadav Eyal, Barak Ravid and Attila Somfalvi. Netanyahu had sent a legal warning on September 9 demanding a retraction; Haaretz said at the time that it stood by its reporting.
