Attorney Michael Ravilo, Prime Minister Netanyahu's candidate for state comptroller and his former private attorney, has decided not to run in the repeat Knesset vote for the post. Ravilo won in June with 61 MKs, but the High Court voided the vote after coalition MKs documented their secret ballots. Ravilo reportedly saw his chances drop sharply after Prime Minister Netanyahu's bloc lost its majority, which could leave retired Justice Yosef Elron as the only candidate. Israel has been without a state comptroller since Matanyahu Engelman's term ended in early July.
