A tunnel in an advanced stage of excavation was discovered near the security barrier by Givat Ze’ev and Givon, inside the Palestinian village of Al-Jib. The tunnel, uncovered on August 28, had its entrance camouflaged inside an ancient cistern to conceal the digging. Following the discovery, Jerusalem Border Police launched an intelligence and operational effort in the area and arrested a suspect carrying excavation tools. Border Police and IDF forces completed the sealing of the tunnel Wednesday night.
