A federal filing identifies Rep. Ilhan Omar as “Ilhan Nur Said Elmi, a/k/a Ilhan Abdullahi Omar,” amid an investigation into possible immigration fraud. The name has drawn attention because her former husband is named Ahmed Nur Said Elmi. Investigators reportedly seized her passport and phone and obtained her DNA during an October 12 search. Omar said she was “not to my knowledge” related to her former husband, denies wrongdoing and calls the investigation political intimidation.
