A Japan Air Self-Defense Force F-15J fighter jet suffered a landing gear failure while returning from a scramble mission, forcing an emergency landing at Naha Airport in Okinawa. The jet skidded along the runway on its left wing before spinning roughly 180 degrees and coming to a stop. The pilot safely exited the aircraft without injuries.
