The U.S. Embassy in Beirut announced Sunday that direct flights between the United States and Lebanon are moving closer to becoming a reality, following President Trump’s decision to lift restrictions dating back to 1985. The embassy thanked President Trump and Secretary of State Marco Rubio for their leadership. No official date has been announced for flights to begin, as regulatory and security approvals are still required.
