Israel has not officially commented on the overnight strike on Syria’s Abu al-Duhur military airbase, but a senior Israeli official told Fox News that Israel shared highly sensitive intelligence with the U.S. ahead of the attack. Israeli assessments indicate the intelligence may have involved Turkish efforts to establish a presence at the airbase, located roughly 70 kilometers from the Turkish border. Israel is increasingly concerned that Turkey is helping Syrian President Ahmed al-Sharaa’s government rebuild its military, particularly the Syrian Air Force, which Israel heavily targeted following the fall of the Assad regime.
