VP Vance described the decision-making behind the withdrawal of U.S. bombers from RAF Fairford as “extremely cautious” following a suspected terror plot targeting the U.K. base. The Pentagon confirmed all bombers deployed there have returned to their home stations, after six people were arrested in connection with the investigation. American bombers have used the base for operations against Iran. British officials say there are “strong indications” Tehran played a role in the suspected plot, which Iran denies.
