House Speaker Mike Johnson told staff this morning he’s not running for House GOP leader, after his party faced devastating losses in Tuesday night’s election. One report said Johnson had talked to President Donald Trump about his decision. Attention will now shift to a possible matchup between House Majority Leader Steve Scalise and House Judiciary Chairman Jim Jordan for the GOP leader spot. Other candidates could emerge.
