Israeli security officials are preparing a tougher crackdown on a group of roughly 70–100 extremist activists blamed for driving recent violence in Judea and Samaria, including increased arrests and continued evacuations of illegal outposts. Authorities also plan to confiscate equipment and other property from evacuated outposts in an effort to increase the financial cost of rebuilding them. Security officials warn that continued incursions into Palestinian villages could trigger a broader escalation in Judea and Samaria.
