The House voted 262–159 Wednesday to pass a major sanctions bill targeting Russia and Iran, sending the legislation to President Trump for his signature. The measure passed the Senate 86–11 last month, NBC News reports. The bill targets Russia’s energy revenues by allowing tariffs of up to 100% on countries that continue buying significant amounts of Russian oil and gas, potentially including China and India. At Trump’s request, it also extends sanctions authority aimed at cutting funding for Iran’s weapons and energy sectors.
