Axios reports that the Trump administration is negotiating with Venezuela’s interim government over a potential U.S. ownership stake in more than a dozen major Venezuelan oil fields holding roughly 90 billion barrels of proven reserves. Under the proposed arrangement, the U.S. and private companies would invest in developing the fields, while Venezuela would receive a larger share of oil revenues. President Trump views the deal as a potentially historic step toward strengthening U.S. energy security and expanding American energy dominance in the Western Hemisphere.
