Coordination of private-sector goods entering Gaza has been suspended following reports that Hamas threatened and intimidated merchants. Nickolay Mladenov, the Board of Peace’s High Representative for Gaza, said he received a letter from Israel’s COGAT notifying him of the suspension. Mladenov condemned Hamas’s reported actions as “unacceptable,” warning that intimidating merchants and interfering with supply chains only increases civilian suffering. He called for the rapid deployment of the National Committee for the Administration of Gaza, backed by the International Stabilization Force, to protect humanitarian from Hamas interference.
