The U.S. is preparing to send the USS George Washington to the Middle East to replace the USS Abraham Lincoln after more than 250 days of deployment, The Wall Street Journal reports. The Lincoln has gone 200 days without a port call and has faced reported shortages of food, toothpaste and soap, along with water contamination, plumbing problems, exhaustion and deteriorating mental health among sailors. A U.S. official said the carrier rotation had been planned before concerns over conditions aboard the Lincoln were raised.
