When asked whether Dr. Abdul El-Sayed should adjust his rhetoric ahead of the general election, Sen. Bernie Sanders responded: “He’s more than capable of making his own political adjustments.” Sanders also accused President Trump of targeting El-Sayed “for racist reasons,” saying Trump would “go after El-Sayed” on social media and at rallies. “These guys have nothing to say about the major crises facing our country,” Sanders said. “All they could do is appeal to racism.”
