President Trump dismissed reports concerning Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth as “false and completely unfounded,” saying he is “extremely happy” with Hegseth’s performance. Trump pointed to the U.S. operation in Venezuela, the campaign against Iran’s nuclear ambitions, the elimination of DEI initiatives and record military recruitment as evidence of what he described as Hegseth’s success. He also accused The Washington Post of publishing a false story despite being told it was untrue, calling the reporting “treasonous.”
