UK Prime Minister Andy Burnham exchanged messages with someone posing as White House Chief of Staff Susie Wiles before becoming suspicious of the contact, POLITICO reported. Some of the messages were exchanged after Burnham entered Downing Street, though a person briefed on them described the exchanges as being of “no significance.” The incident prompted the British Embassy in Washington to alert the White House. Officials have not disclosed what was discussed or exactly when the messages were exchanged.
