CENTCOM Commander Adm. Brad Cooper says U.S. forces have helped protect more than 2,000 commercial ships and over one billion barrels of Gulf crude passing through the Strait of Hormuz in recent months. Cooper said shipping through the Strait has reached its highest level in six months, while Iran has exported no oil due to the U.S. blockade.
