Smugglers are using helium balloons to bypass Israel's border defense systems, according to the Regavim movement. On Sunday, a 100-kilogram drug shipment carried by balloons landed in agricultural fields near Moshav Ein Yahav. The balloons use GPS trackers and timed-release mechanisms to deliver cargo without drone signals, making them difficult to intercept. Officials fear the method could also be used to smuggle weapons.
