President Trump recently told donors privately that he wants Vice President JD Vance to win the 2028 presidential election, telling them during an Oval Office meeting, “At the end of the day, we need to elect JD,” The Washington Post reported. Trump has continued publicly encouraging speculation about both Vance and Secretary of State Marco Rubio, and advisers cautioned that he has not necessarily made a final decision.
