🚨*BREAKING*: NYPD officers shot and killed a knife-wielding man on the Brooklyn Bridge early Friday morning after he climbed onto the bridge’s cables and threatened emergency responders, officials said. Police responded around 3:28 a.m. after reports of the man on the cables. Officers with the NYPD Emergency Service Unit spent nearly an hour trying to get him to come down before he moved toward officers while holding a knife. An officer then fired, striking the man. He was taken to Bellevue Hospital, where he later died. The shooting marks the second deadly NYPD shooting this week. On Monday, a woman armed with two knives fatally stabbed a 32-year-old woman and injured a 68-year-old man in Times Square before advancing toward police and being fatally shot.
