A 46-year-old Rockland County man was shot dead last week after a near-collision on the George Washington Bridge. Prosecutors say he and another driver changed lanes at the same time on the upper level and almost crashed, and the other driver, a retired NYPD detective, then chased him, fired a shot into his car and drove off. He was first arrested for murder, but was charged with manslaughter instead and is already out on $1 million bail, leaving the victim's widow asking how her husband's killer can be home with his family.
