Nearly two years after congestion pricing started in Manhattan, many drivers say traffic is as bad as ever, and now they pay to sit in it. The MTA says the toll cut traffic into the zone by 11% in 2025, but data from more than 50,000 truck and van trips showed speeds mostly unchanged from 2024, with 16% of the zone actually moving slower. The toll, which costs at least $9, brought in more than $700 million in 2025.
