South Africa: Spectators at a packed Cape Town stadium were treated to a spectacular flyover as two Airlink passenger jets passed just metres above the roof ahead of Saturday’s South Africa-New Zealand rugby match. Flight-tracking data indicates the lead aircraft cleared the roof of DHL Stadium by just 12.5 to 14 metres, creating dramatic scenes for thousands of fans inside. Airlink said the flyover was carefully planned and rehearsed, had been approved by South Africa’s aviation authorities and remained within approved altitude and speed limits, amid some safety concerns over how low the aircraft appeared.
