Mayor Zohran Mamdani announced a new $3 million outreach program Monday to help residents maintain Medicaid coverage ahead of federal rule changes taking effect in January 2027. The initiative will provide assistance with health insurance enrollment, food benefits, housing support, and medical bills. City officials estimate that up to 900,000 residents could be at risk of losing coverage.
