The City Council has approved 26 new street and public-place co-namings across the five boroughs honoring victims, first responders and recovery workers from the September 11 attacks. Brooklyn will receive several of the new designations, including “9/11 Beacon Memorial Way,” as the city prepares to mark the 25th anniversary of 9/11. The Council also passed a resolution urging New York State to strengthen 9/11 education in schools.
