Mayor Zohran Mamdani announced that New York City's enforcement of new delivery app tipping rules has resulted in more than $104 million in additional tips for app-based delivery workers since January. City officials say the new protections require apps to display clear tipping options at checkout, helping roughly 70,000 delivery workers earn significantly more while maintaining strong customer demand for food delivery. Workers are now projected to receive an additional $184 million annually in tips under the new rules.
