New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani announced Tuesday the launch of a new online resource designed to help residents maintain their SNAP food assistance and Medicaid health coverage amid changing federal requirements. The website allows New Yorkers to check whether new work requirements apply to them, identify possible exemptions, and access additional assistance. City officials warn that approximately 900,000 residents could be at risk of losing Medicaid coverage under federal requirements scheduled to begin January 1, 2027. Residents can visit NYC.gov/workrules for more information.
